Sustainable Development Goals Program

Our 3-year SDG Program brought Nova Scotians together to collaborate for sustainable, equitable, and inclusive futures

Together we raised awareness of and advanced the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) through community initiatives and learning opportunities across Nova Scotia/Mi’kma’ki.
The SDGs are 17 interconnected global goalposts set out by the United Nations that are about improving everyone’s quality of life.

Our program has come to a wrap, but our reflections and key learnings are readily available for anyone seeking to champion the SDGs in their own communities.

You’ll find us continuing to measure Quality of Life in Nova Scotia, which can be mapped onto the SDGs in seconds using our Wellbeing Analysis Tool. From local to (inter)national opportunities, we are eager to mobilize the energy of the SDGs into all that we do.

Survey Snapshots is an infographic report that illustrates local wellbeing data related to each SDG using the 2019 NS Quality of Life Survey results. Use the infographics to inform decisions that get us where we want to go.

We couldn’t have done it without you

We are grateful to everyone in Nova Scotia, including community partners who are moving the SDGs forward from the ground up, and our partners in the SDG Unit of ESDC who made this work possible. The success and final outcomes of this project were created through meaningful collaboration and caring approaches to building better futures together.
