On January 31, the Town of Antigonish hosted the first of two community gatherings designed with the Engage Nova Scotia team to take the pulse of residents on the future they want. Close to 150 residents took part in the event.
Mayor Laurie Boucher and councillors approached Engage to determine how best to reach citizens and get input to inform their new strategic plan. This sort of collaboration, and leadership on the part of the Town, is exactly the type of work needed in our province.
On-site feedback was overwhelmingly positive, and all attendees will receive an evaluation survey to provide their feedback on the event.
During group discussions, they identified priority topics and dug into them together providing the Town and Engage with a wealth of data.
We’ll be working with this data and scheduling a second community meeting later this winter.
